Manager O Callaghan of the Hotel Georgian received a Pinkerton warning that a man using aliases is held in Detroit. The suspect, arrested after 3½ years of pursuit, posed as M J Harvey or J M Lane and sold glass fixtures to Athens Gas Co. He cashed eighty dollar checks, prompting a warrant and inquiry.

Wells Runs Amuck In Drunken Rampage Wounding Wife
J K Wells of this city shot and dangerously wounded his wife in their Oconee street home then fired on his brother and wounded Dr. Matthews who came to assist. Wells, later jailed, claimed amnesia and sorrow. Mrs Wells rested, Dr Matthews not seriously hurt. The attack followed a night of drinking and a family quarrel.
