A list of delegates and their homes is given for the U D C convention in Athens on October 29. Names include Mrs. Frank Arden Savannah and Mrs. M M Morris Savannah among many Georgia cities and organizers.
The three senior classes met to plan the 1913 Pandora issue. They will adopt a governing constitution, elect a chief editor and two associates, and consider letting voters pick the editor in chief. A resolution for popular vote and candidate declarations was approved for next meeting.
The Rev Jewett Williams, former University of Georgia student and Rhodes scholar, will be ordained a priest today in Griffin during the annual missionary conference. Rev Troy Beatty of Emmanuel Church in Athens will preach the sermon.
It was determined yesterday that Judge Brand, who fell ill the morning before, is not suffering from appendicitis. He rests well and will be back at work soon.
Fulton Varner’s car caught fire Tuesday afternoon while driving on a road near the city. The fire burned the car to a skeleton with only the frame remaining. Mrs Varner was present during the incident and the chassis was dragged into the city yesterday afternoon.

At Monday's meeting the new Baptist church was named The Baptist Tabernacle by unanimous vote. Despite bad weather the gathering showed strong enthusiasm and over three thousand dollars was subscribed. A prayer meeting was planned for Thursday at First Baptist Church at 8 p.m., inviting all to attend. all members of the new church were expected to be present.
Secretary Callaway and Mayor Rowe met with Mr. Steele of the show to discuss wintering the Howe's Ela here. The compress on Broad Street was found suitable with ample housing space. A chamber committee will negotiate with Atlantic Compress to secure buildings and a wintering plan. The show would bring at least twenty five thousand dollars to local merchants and employ many performers and workers through the season. Steele favored Athens if proper arrangements are made.
Ten candidates for the third member of the arbitration board have been rejected awaiting a decision. In Atlanta, Charles Wickersham for the railroad and Fred Burgess for the men resumed talks to settle differences from the recent strike. Senator Hoke Smith and attorney Reuben Arnold are among those considered, with a ruling due Thursday or Friday.
The State Normal School reports no new illness yesterday and expects no additional cases. All students with symptoms are improving, with the only near-campus case the original one. Mr James Crane’s condition is better and friends are hopeful for full recovery.
