Yesterday at six o clock the ginnery of J W Tuck in Winterville was totally destroyed by fire. The machinery ran at full blast when a belt broke and the fire started in a gin. The entire structure burned as workers escaped. Cotton seed valued at 1000 dollars and the ginnery plant valued at 3700 dollars were lost. Insurance on the plant was about 3000 dollars.

Rev Lon Eakes son of Rev M H Eakes of this city has been very ill with appendicitis in Eureka Springs Arkansas but is now much better and on the road to recovery. He conducted meetings in Athens and had left for Missouri when attacked. An operation was performed and he recovered from the shock. The attending physician says he will be up again in a few days.
