At the Athens Fair yesterday the Gold Call paced a half mile in 1 04 25, fastest ever seen there, driven by H N Reaves, drawing a large crowd. Other races included Maxie Bliss winning a 3 minute pace, a gentleman’s road race won by Aledi over Primus J, and Dr Worth with Mike Haverty in the six furlong purse race. Today’s program features four races with purses up to 400 dollars and entrants such as Bessie Wilkes, School Girl, The Doctor, Belle of Macon, and Little Raven.
