The Clarke Rifles will hold a prize drill Thursday at 8 45 in the Armory to determine the best individual drill record for the Fla tau medal. Col Charles Emory Smith will present the award. three cadet corps officers serve as judges as the public is invited.

Yesterday morning at eleven, the funeral of Mrs. Samuel C Benedict was held at Emmanuel church in the presence of many sorrowing friends. Rev. Troy Beatty conducted the services as floral tributes testified to love and affection. The choir sang Art Thou Weary and Lead Kindly Light. Interment followed at Oronee cemetery.
Mrs Birdie Griffith aged forty one died yesterday morning at 11 45 at her home 24 Georgia Depot street after weeks of illness She is survived by her husband four children one sister and a brother The casket will leave the city at 9 this morning for interment at Bethabara church funeral services conducted by Rev Willie Saye
A baby boy named Jack Williams died yesterday morning at his parents home on 182 on street. The funeral will be conducted by Rev. A J Smith pastor of the West End Protestant church.
The friends of Mr John H McDorman regret to learn of his serious condition in an Atlanta hospital. He has two brothers, George W McDorman and R. E. McDorman, and a sister, Mrs J A Harbin, residing here.

He pledges strict enforcement of laws, road development, nonpartisan cooperation, and a government by and for the people with emphasis on constitutional protection, local control, and fiscal restraint.

Sub-Officer William Eberhardt faced a life threatening incident yesterday when shown the same bullet said to be used against him. He arrested a man for a routine offense amid a rainy windward day, the prisoner cursed and boasted of a gun, but claimed only influenza. The suspect, dubbed a “mill man” by Col. Felton, carried a thread hook, scissors and a steel tipped bullet, the weapon allegedly kept for the officer.
Sadie Snowdon, a beautiful young mare recently sold to Thomas Hollingsworth, collapsed and died after her first ride by the new owner while crossing Prince Avenue. The horse, once owned by Price Hinton, had fetched several hundred dollars and had shown racing promise on Abbeville and Eatonton tracks, including a 2:14 mile at Athens.
