Stoddard Automobile Blows Up On Winterville Road
Paul Keller, a Miatau machinist, narrowly escaped death when a forty horse power Stoddard touring car exploded near Athens on the Winterville road. He leaped from the vehicle moments before it blew, landing in a ditch and avoiding the fiery crash as the car shattered, leaving only the radiator and twisted components. The car, owned by Simon Michael, cost over 3800 dollars with about 1800 dollars insured, and had shown fuel-power issues prior to the blast.

Actor In Mexico Shot At Colonial During Matinee
H. Miller, an actor with the Lawrence Players, was accidentally shot in the arm by a blank cartridge during yesterdays Colonial performance. Lightning kills farm hand and mule near Athens
Yesterday near the cord mill south of Athens a farm hand named Lee Johnson was fatally struck by a bolt from a passing shower charged with electricity. The mule hitched to his plow also died, and the plow was torn to pieces by the current.

County Citizen Hurt by Fall
Mr. I. N. Bramblett, Princeton Factory district, was bruised when his light wagon is said to have run away after his horse frightened. The wagon overturned on the curb, pinning him. He was extricated, treated, and his son took him home. No bones were broken.
