The Georgia track squad travels to Atlanta for the Ia A A meet starting today and continuing tomorrow. Dearing the hurdler carries a pinch in 129 and 220 yard events with times around 16.1 and 27.5 seconds set to challenge a Texas rival. Georgia hopes to place high in most events, aiming for many points as ten southern colleges and universities compete on Piedmont’s fast track.

Rome May 14 A bold plot to kill former judge G A H Harris surfaced as about a dozen tramps gathered near his Floyd county home. One drunk confessed the plan prompting swift action by the sheriff and posse who rounded up six suspects, two possibly wanted elsewhere for burglary. Over fifty tramps have been arrested in the past month for train riding, troubling authorities.
The East Athens Night School may adopt Mr Peabody's offer to establish a manual training department with equipment and a teacher funded by the city. The board favors the plan but must arrange teacher funding. If Mr Peabody adjusts conditions, the department could join the existing domestic sciences program, completing the school. Local funds exist for equipment. hiring a teacher remains the obstacle. The night school hopes to proceed to benefit from the offer. Meanwhile Bradwell, former Georgia state official and educator, lies near death at his Florida home, with doctors giving little hope.

Yesterday morning Mayor Rhodes fined Dolly Gregory thirty dollars and costs for disorderly conduct in the Lickskillet settlement. Police report say she hoisted profane language at arrest and the mayor aimed to set an example. She paid the fine and plans to move to the country.
In Chicago on Wednesday Laura Stickler a Young Woman's Christian Association member leaped from a Newport hotel second story window to avoid compromising her honor with broker William Reed. Sunday eleven o'clock marks the consecration of the new Oconee Street Methodist church building. Rev M H Eskes will lead exercises with a song, scripture, and prayers. Revival services to follow each evening. Sunday School moves to 3 30 pm in the new church.
The Athens Guards will drill at Athens park this afternoon and then proceed to the Griffin encampment in late June. The unit will drill continuously to be in fine shape for the encampment and uphold the city's prestige.

He recalls master William Doughterty with three sons and two daughters. Edwards lists five brothers and four sisters and asks locals to share any details to forward to him in the West.
