Death of Rev Henry Newton Oldest University Alumnus
At about midnight the Rev Henry Newton died at age ninety, the oldest living graduate of the University of Georgia class of 1841. He leaves two sons Charles H Newton of Athens and Thomas C Newton of Washington DC, and a daughter Mrs W B Reynolds of Milledgeville. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 5 from his house on Prince Avenue with Rev S J Cartledge officiating. interment at Oconee Cemetery. A landmark in Athens and in the Presbyterian ministry, his health had been frail for years.
