Monday afternoon on the Oconee river near the water works station a boy named Kenney nearly drowned when he climbed into a large wire fish basket pulled into a boat by three other boys. The basket slipped back into the river with him inside and he was rescued after frantic efforts. he survived after being shaken and rubbed until he recovered.
