Attendance at the First Baptist church grows for Rev. Mr. Kemp from Edinburgh as he delivers earnest sermons on the gospel of Christ. Daily schedule includes 10 30 am prayer and praise 11 am preaching and 8 pm singing with 8 20 pm sermon. The speaker urges belief in Christ and notes peace of Christ as vital amid worldly trouble.
A review praises the film The Death of Minnehaha with vivid acting and clear photography. The notice also advertises a sale of a pair of young mules aged four and five years, with a wagon and harness included, at a location on B78 Bator Street and by J. K. Keusey.
The Athens Chamber of Commerce will convene tonight at 8:30 at Union Station to decide on a union passenger station for the city. President W. F. Dorsey has urged all members and committee members to attend, stressing the importance for fairness to railroads and city interests.
Mrs. Lulander Martin, one of Athens' oldest residents, died at her Thomas Street home on Wednesday night. She leaves two daughters, I. W. Yarbrough and James Martin, and was laid to rest at Oconee cemetery after a 3:30 p.m. service at her residence conducted by Rev. Geo. F. Stone and Rev. A. J. Sears.
The veteran R W Pittman died Wednesday night at his daughter’s home on Prince Avenue. His funeral at Center Methodist Church drew a large crowd with veteran comrades as pallbearers. The choir included Miss Holliday Mrs Lampkin Dr I C Holliday Joe Hodgson and C A Von der Lieth. His death marks the fourth family loss this year with his wife and two sons having died recently.

The New York American baseball team signed a contract to train in Athens for the 1911 1912 and 1913 seasons. Officials of the Metropolitan Highlander and Athens Street Railway and Electric Company completed the agreement. The move honors Athens climate grounds hotels and the University aiding their stay and training in Dixie.
Clarke county Clerk Elmer Crawford began writing summonses for grand and traverse jurors for the April term. The Banner recalls the first Clarke County superior court jury drawn on opening day under Judge Thomas P Carnes, listing dozens of jurors from Richard Whitehead to Richard Cole and others.
The Regulars defeated the Yannigans 5 to 1 as Engle revived his batting eye with two timely singles. Ford hit two homers, while Yannigans stars Foater and Mitchell were sidelined by injuries. Warhop pitched for the Yannigans with Clunn and Upham assisting the Regulars, and the game was seven innings with the Regulars widening their lead in the second and securing the final tally in the third.
Rev. Dr. M. L. Troutman yesterday became a full-fellowship member of the Garden Club under his wife’s watchful eye. A fair day, fragrant campus air, and the pastor’s hoe action accompanied the ceremony as he plans to plant garden seeds to aid the church’s quarters.

President Farrell owner of the New York Yankees has departed after inspecting spring training in the city. He reportedly completed negotiations to buy Third Baseman Hallimah of Oakland and plans to assign the infielder to the Yankees upon their return to New York, with endorsement from Hal Chase.
