Alumni Raise Five Thousand Quickly for University Debt
The University of Georgia Alumni Association raised five thousand dollars in ten minutes to pay off a fifteen thousand dollar debt owed by the land trustees, with a plan to raise the remaining ten thousand. The meeting elected officers for three years, nominated orators for 1912, and noted new attendees from Emory Oxford Mercer and other colleges. Miss Sallie May Grow of the Davison Nicholson company was injured when the streetcar moved as she stepped off near Hoyt and Jackson. She was carried home unconscious with injuries to her shoulder head and chest. Special to the Banner from Atlanta Georgia June 21 1 am General Clement A Evans one of the oldest surviving Confederates and former commander in chief of the United Confederate Veterans Association of the South was recently named adjutant general of the state by Governor elect Hoke Smith Evans long active in the Methodist church and a former Georgia gubernatorial candidate is described as beloved in the states and remains a notable figure in Southern history.

Narrow auto crash injures two in Athens street collision
Yesterday afternoon in Athens a colored man Daniel driving Dr. W. M. Slaughter’s auto and white hackman Mr. Wier narrowly escaped serious injuries as their vehicles collided and the auto’s wheel was torn from the steering column. The hack’s wheel was damaged and multiple spokes broken. No fatalities reported.

Automobile cases appealed by council
