University Day Representatives Deliver Addresses at Chapel
Yesterday marked University Day with morning exercises at 10 30 in the chapel featuring speakers from University branches. Ross R Childs Round Oak graduate spoke on The Burden on the Farmer. Constance Schley Muscogee County graduate spoke for the State Normal School on Country School of Permanent Science. Exie Bennett from Milledgeville spoke for the Cooma Normal and Industrial College on The Influence of the College Woman. J 8 Milner Atlanta represented Georgia Tech on Universal Peace. Marion Silver of Georgia Medical College spoke on The Medical College as a Factor in Higher Education. E W Smith North Georgia Agricultural College spoke Go South Young Man. City league grows as Athens plans more teams this summer
In Athens four teams play in the city league with Georgia Railroad and Bankers among entrants. A recent game at Chase street Grounds saw the Railroaders defeat the Bankers 15 to 4, amid balls, hits, and seven strikeouts by the Bankers. Officials expect a summer schedule for six to eight teams and a pennant at season end.

Local Worker John Klouse Dies After Heart Attack
John Klouse aged fifty nine died Sunday morning at 11 o'clock from heart disease at his home at 128 First street. He served the city fifteen years caring for stone curbing along Athens sidewalks. He leaves a wife, Mrs. S. E. Klouse. The body goes to Bethabara church for funeral at 1:30 p.m. today. Carriages from Bernstein Bros. at 8 o'clock. Rev. Willie Saye to conduct services.

Captain Lay On Sick Bed While His Company Took Honors in Drill

Georgia university names baseball and park managers
At a meeting of the athletic council of the University of Georgia athletic association Frank Carter of Atlanta was elected team manager of the baseball department for the coming season while G H Newsome of Eatonton was chosen park manager. The publishing company president editor and general manager, a trustee, has attended meetings since last Friday. Visitors Wilson Hardy and Jack McCartney, alumni of 1902, arrived with Hardy as former vice president and McCartney as secretary and managing editor. Mrs. Johnson, associate editor, also attended, as the Rome and northwest Georgia newspaper staff shapes its coverage.
