University Trustees Meet In Conference Still In Session

University of Georgia trustees held a lengthy session with broad attendance. Reports dominated the agenda as committees were created to oversee the law library fund and the summer school MA requirements. The board favored extending higher education access to girls while declining Lucy Cobb Institute’s proposal due to finances. Sophomore declaimer contest opens commencement at UGA

The first real commencement event is tonight in the University of Georgia old chapel with the sophomore declaimer's contest for the sophomore cup. Demosthenians Luther Stephens Watson Zachery Stuart Cowan and others along with Phi Kappa members compete at 8 30 p m on Saturday June 17. The UGA band will perform and the public is invited to attend.

Sold College Athens Business College Now Under Local Management

Last week Prof H B Byrne president of Byrne Business College visited Athens Business College and praised its condition and outlook. Bryan speaks in Athens on progress and growth

Hon. William Jennings Bryan addressed a large Athens audience at Jefferson Street yesterday then traveled by Clerk Nix’s car to Athens. He was joined by Col. Jerre Ayers and Col. Paul Barber as he continued toward the S. R. train, praising the city’s steady growth and urging unity for a stronger Athens and its Business College.
