Comer Georgia July 25 Mr James T Comer aged about sixty a prominent town member died this afternoon from a self inflicted gunshot wound in a momentary insanity tied to apoplectic brain trouble His funeral will be held tomorrow in Comer then Athens where burial follows in Oconee cemetery He leaves a wife and five children and was long a resident of Athens and Comer The act occurred in a yard outhouse after he secured a double barrel shotgun and fired at close range causing instant death in a brief lapse of mental health

Dr Dan H DuPree returned from months in Berlin where he studied with renowned German surgeons, and his wife accompanied him learning hospital methods. A funeral is planned at Comer at 10 am with graveside rites at Oconee cemetery around 3:20 pm, led by Rev S R England and Rev Dr Troutman. Pallbearers include six nephews: Austin Comer, Guy Comer, Henry Comer, Thomas F Comer of Athens, Es Comer of Massville, and Joe Comer of Comer.

Sorrells Dies After Sunday Shooting in Smithonia
James Sorrells died from a gunshot wound suffered during a Sunday liquor gathering. The shot from an Elder during a row left Sorrells with lethal injuries to the abdomen and liver. The assailant is jailed at Le aington as the case awaits court inquiry into the shooting.
