Death of SEABOARD official in bridge mishap at Inglesby
I R Ennis, superintendent of Seaboard Air Line construction, died from severe injuries after falling thirty feet from a damaged post as a work train passed. He was brought from Inglesby to St Marys Hospital Athens in a dying condition and died early Sunday. Remains were prepared for burial and shipped to Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Escaped 1910 Captured 1911 Man Held in Athens
Charlie Hurley a man described as a negro charged with assault with intent to murder escaped his band in this county over a year ago and was captured in Anderson South Carolina. First Sergeant Thomas Campbell of Anderson police brought Hurley to Athens on a warrant and turned him over to local officers. Hurley had prior trouble here and secured bond before escaping again. Campbell recognized him from a description sent by Athens police chief McKle and arrested him. Campbell praised as a capable, pleasant officer.
