City Council Hears Street Paving and School Additions
The monthly city council meeting discussed street improvements including paving Hull street from Hancock to Washington and Bull street from Washington to Clayton. Athens Baptists Build Large Debt-Free Tabernacle
A new Baptist Tabernacle formed eight and a half months ago in Athens grew to 552 members, added 110 during the latest revival, and filled the largest auditorium in the city. The church, debt-free, seats 1,440, drew 2,000 to 2,500 on Sunday, and hosted Dr Bruner and Rev Dew in sessions with baptisms and musical duets. An echo meeting is planned for tomorrow night to hear testimonies of those helped.
