This morning Athens sees two new banks replace the Bank of the University. Georgia National Bank of Athens and University Savings Bank begin operations with John J. Wilkins as President and M. M. Stephenson as Cashier. Directors include Billops Phinizy and T. P. Vincent among others. Charles H. Newton will keep his fire insurance firm Newton & Bryan. Phinizy retires from Geo. H. Hulme & Co. and the business becomes Geo. H. Hulme Grocery Company with Moessra Geo. EL Lane 8.5 Daerah Se. Phinizy also enters brokerage with Frank A. Lipscomb as Lipscomb & Co.
