Death of R H Aiken Found In Hotel Room
Sunday evening R H Aiken was found dead in his room at the Commercial hotel, apparently from natural heart failure. Coroner Weatherly led a jury in a swift inquiry. he had been dead about eighteen to twenty hours after lying down Saturday night. Aiken, about sixty five, was a former traveling man and local salesman and insurance solicitor. His daughter Mrs B W Davison carried the body to Shady Dale for funeral services. He left only about 4 50 of the 60 pension money in his pocket. He was well regarded for his quiet, loyal, and honest character.

Investigation Finds Nabors Fit for State Sanitarium
Judge R C Orr was asked to examine Thomas Devotie Nabors son of Mrs J A Nabors in Winterville. The jury found him mentally fit for treatment at the state sanitarium. Athens City Court Opens Second Week of Criminal Business
In Athens the city court began its second week handling criminal cases with a full docket. Yesterday saw verdicts and pleas in several matters including Mike Martin for train drunkenness, B J Martin for pointing, John Bazzell for larceny with a not guilty verdict, Bob Campbell for pistol possession with a $30 fine and suspended three month jail term, Burrell Morrison for drunkenness with profanity at a church, and Ed House for speeding and vehicular damage on the road to Bogart. The jury on Houses case did not reach a verdict by nightfall, making a mistrial likely.
