Judge Frank Pope, aged 81, longtime Oglethorpe County and Athens resident, died at his home near Cherokee Corner after a brief illness. He is survived by his widow and a brother, with relatives including R. L. Moss Sr., Rev. Henry Newton, and T. P. Stanley. The funeral was at his Oglethorpe home with interment at Oconee cemetery. pallbearers to be drawn from his church.

The funeral of W. H. Shy was held yesterday afternoon at the First Methodist church. Rev. M. L. Troutman delivered a touching sermon as many friends gathered to honor his memory and witness the burial rites.

Funeral services for Mrs held yesterday were conducted with religious rites and a quiet procession. The obituary notes she passed peacefully and was laid to rest with family in attendance.
Friends of the late Col Pope and Mrs Pope and Mr W E Pope Mr R L Moss Sr Henry Newton and Mr T P are requested to be present at the funeral today after the Georgia train arrives at noon. The remains will be met at the station by friends and family and the interment will occur at Oconee cemetery.
