Maxey, a young man from Oglethorpe County, remained without bond last night after his conviction for annoying a young girl. He faces six months in the city stockade and must post $200 bond to appeal to council and gain release for a trial.
Georgia calls for Leo M. Frank execution in Fulton jail
Special to the Banner reports that Leo M. Frank was found guilty of murder in Fulton superior court. The court ordered his execution by hanging at the Fulton county jail on October 10, 1913, to take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The sentence, issued August 26, 1913, includes witnesses and clergy as requested by the defendant. The case will move to higher courts on motions for a new trial. Newt Lee, who found Mary Phagan's body, is released. Jim Conley faces indictment and possible plea in the near future.

School Board Sets Budget and Prep for Opening
