Washington reports Congress adjourned at 3:02 p.m. with the Senate and House both suspending proceedings until December. The president vetoed several measures and signed the statehood bill while rejecting the cotton bill. Democrats claim they stood firm on harmony and principle through the session.
At Seaboard Railway Station the mayor and two sanitary officers with a policeman or two addressed the case of Chanley Brown a crippled Black man from Comer He claimed the names Rey Soy and Aaton Pott tat were involved in the incident and the officials arranged proper handling of the matter.
A man was hurt in a collision and received immediate attention from bystanders at Comer. Passengers quickly funded a ticket to Athens, where he was placed on a train with a doctor to examine him. He appears to have internal injuries but should be released if condition improves.
