Oregon State College approves a simple barn lighting plan using a gasoline engine, a six volt generator, and car headlights. The system runs off a farm engine, charges a common auto battery, and costs about $10 to $15, offering a practical, if indirect, lighting solution.
Mrs. Jessamine C. Williams of Oregon State College urges cod liver oil for winter in Oregon. She notes vitamin D from sunlight and the liver oil as the richest vitamin A source, protecting bones and teeth and defending against infections. substitutes lack vitamin A.
Marshall Dana reports in the Oregon Journal that Portland and regional leaders press for Congress to adopt the Umatilla Rapids dam as an employment relief measure.
