Foggy Night Two Car Crashes Injure Five
While driving home through heavy fog, Lester Vaughn's car crashed into a bridge near Freewater injuring him severely with rib injuries and a lung puncture. Dayton Kirving aged 19 drowned Sunday after plunging into the Columbia River three miles east of The Dalles to retrieve a froose shot from the bank. Two companions tried to save him but had to abandon the attempt when they began to cramp as the swift current carried him mid stream.

Man Injured Moving House on Main Street
Dean Dudley was badly hurt Tuesday afternoon while helping move the house of James Huggins on Main street. A jack slipped, a crowbar struck his left cheek bone, and he was rushed to a Walla Walla hospital where X rays showed a broken left cheek bone.
