Athena City Approves Major Waterworks Pipe Line Plan

The city of Athena Oregon posts a notice of appropriation of fifty inches of water from Gallaher and Pruett Springs in Rawhide Gulch for a new gravity water system. It outlines diversion points head gate and dams, a ten inch diameter pipe line named Athena Water Works Pipe Line, and associated reservoirs and rights of way, dated May 23 1905 and posted May 24 1905.

Deputy Nolf Enforces Fish Laws on Ditches and Mills

Deputy Game and Fish Warden Joe Nolf warns farmers irrigation ditch companies and mill owners to install wire screens at ditch inlets to prevent fish from entering waterways. Violations carry misdemeanor charges and fines from 50 to 1000 dollars plus costs.

Norris and Rowe Show Tickets At Pendleton

Eleventh Umatilla Pioneers Reunion Planned at Weston

Weston prepares for the Eleventh Annual Umatilla County Pioneers Association reunion on June 2 and 3 with a canvas pavilion on Broad Street. Modern Woodmen Sued in Pendleton Judgment

Martha D. Kimball of Alba has a $3 000 claim against the Modern Woodmen of America in Pendleton. The suit, filed by Kimball, notes her late husband Charles Kimball joined the lodge November 26, 1908, six months before his death. Complaint filed with County Clerk Saling.

Morrow County Grand Jury Indicts Twelve Gamblers

The Morrow county grand jury finished its term returning indictments against twelve gamblers and gambling house owners. Judge Bradshaw presided in Judge W. BR Ellis's absence. Each gambler was fined fifty dollars. No true bills were issued on Sunday closing law violators, with a recommendation to handle mob cases municipally to reduce taxpayer costs.
