Ackerman Sees High Education Standards Rise in Oregon

Girl Found In Portland After Luring By Man Tom Scott

Olive Kemp, 17, from a farm near Echo, was taken by Tom Scott 40, who has a wife and children in Spokane. Scott, a farm laborer at Echo, enticed Olive away weeks ago. She is now in the boys and girls home in Portland. Police seek Beott.

Athena School Leads County In Eighth Grade Averages

The Athena public school, led by teacher George Marquis, posts the top county eighth grade average with Cecile Boyd at 95.40. Nineteen pupils are in the class, all 19 passing, and a list shows each pupil's percentage from Herbert Munaswe at 91.29 to Victor Burke at 86.89.

Rounding Up Cayuses Preparations Underway on Range

Grand colt show in Athena draws wide turnout and prizes

The grand success colt show in Athena drew horsemen from across the country. Ten stallions led the parade with 83 colts following. judges included W. S. Matlock and W. P. Hopson until the coach class awards. Prizes were awarded in Light Harness, Draft, and Coach classes, highlighting fine breeding and signaling a future annual event. Mrs Joseph Perry, mother of Mrs Lucien Gagnon, died in Walla Walla aged 72 years.
