Injured Woman Recovers After Portland Streetcar Crash
Mrs. James Creswell recovers from injuries after a Ford coupe was struck broadside by a streetcar six miles east of Portland while she was en route to Forest Grove to visit her parents. She suffered back injuries scalp wounds and bruises but is convalescing at Forest Grove and hopes to return home soon.

Judge Phelps Dies After Long Illness
Judge Gilbert W. Phelps of the sixth judicial district in Oregon died after a two year illness from a paralytic stroke. He served on the Pendleton circuit court since 1910 and was repeatedly elected without opposition. Survived by his widow and two daughters, his funeral was held in Pendleton with active and honorary pallbearers from state officials and long-time friends.

Death of Mrs Booher of Athena at 66
Mrs Minnie Booher widow of the late Al Booher died at her Athena home Tuesday at age 66 years four months and 22 days after a long illness. She leaves four daughters Etha Lang Ella Smalley John Shick and Henry Booker all in Portland or Athena. Funeral services were held at the family home yesterday afternoon with many friends and abundant floral offerings.
Farmers See Weeder Demonstration At Koepke Farm
A large crowd of farmers gathered at Henry Koepke’s farm south of Athena on Friday for a weeders demonstration. Koepke reported weeds killed by three models while Rogers Goodman, Pendleton Iron Works, Pendleton and Rex Ellis of Pendleton showcased Snider Pendleton Penland weeders. The trio of weeders moved across the field, illustrating efficiency, though no implement was offered for garden use drawn by less than a six horse team.

Proprietor Severely Burned When Pipe Bursts at Milton
J. E. Snively proprietor of Twin City Cleaning at Milton was severely burned on the face arms and hands after a steam pipe burst in the cleaning department Saturday. He tried to stop the leak by holding a sack between himself and the steam. the sack blew away and the burns occurred. Linseed oil and flour were promptly applied to lessen the injuries.
