Injured mill worker in accident at Fletcher Saw Mill
Weston June 23 Lafe Yarber an employee at the Fletcher Saw Mill east of town lies at a local hotel in maimed condition after an accident yesterday afternoon. While near the carriage moving logs toward the saws he was caught between the carriage and a log suffering painful leg and body injuries. Attending physicians report he is resting as well as could be expected with indications of recovery.

Smallpox at Dayton Claims two deaths and more infections
Florence Neal who recently brought smallpox to the Dunning home near Dayton from Asotin county had contracted the disease while working at a hotel and had almost recovered.
