Pendleton outclassed Pilot Rock 7 to 0 in a Sunday game as fans watched an exhibition through five innings before an error by Van Bushkirk halted Pendleton’s scoring. Pendleton returns to Pilot Rock next Sunday while Athena prepares to travel to Weston for the Fourth of July celebration. The Athena Band has been engaged for the event in Pilot Rock at a contract of 176 dollars for music and a dance.

Grandmother Gerking Dies After Long Life of Service
Grandma Gerking, mother of Mrs. David Taylor of this city, died at 92 years 1 month 28 days after months bedridden. Born April 11 1818 in Montgomery County Kentucky she came to Oregon in 1862 and left a legacy of helping neighbors. She leaves six of her 18 children surviving: B. Cut In Automobile Accident Near Weston Leaves Two Injured
Henry Booker and George Cannon suffered injuries from a Sunday evening car crash when a wheel collapsed near the MclIntyre place north of Weston. Cannon and Booker were thrown into a barb wire fence, Booker sustaining a gash behind the ear and over the eye while Cannon narrowly escaped a throat wound. Dr. Newsom treated the wounds. both boys are recovering well with no complications expected. other party members included Henry Miller and York Dell.

Pendleton Spokane Train Crash at Alto Hill Siding Injures One
A Pendleton Spokane passenger train No 7 crashed into a bolster engine at Alto hill siding Sunday afternoon due to a wrong switch. Both engines derailed and the mail car was badly wrecked. No deaths and one injury reported as the train reached Athena four hours late.
