Steers Bring 62 Per Head in Butter Creek Shipment
R N Stanford and Fred Andrews reported a shipment of 24 fat steers from Butter Creek district to Echo and Butter Creek alfalfa areas bringing over 62 per head. A second shipment of 10 to 20 head from Boho showed similar price and weight. Over 5000 head of steers are being fed in Butter Creek as spring nears for northwest markets with anticipated five cents per pound after March 1. Attorney John McCourt of Pendleton denies active canvassing for US district attorney, saying he is a passive candidate and would accept nomination only if offered by the president.
