Accident Drowned Miss Margaret Hamilton in Hawaii Lake
Miss Margaret Hamilton aged 38, longtime Walla Walla native, drowned accidentally in Lake Wahiawa, Honolulu, on Tuesday. She previously taught in Portland and Yakima schools and moved to Honolulu last June to teach. Her father, Gavin Hamilton, lives in Lewiston, Idaho.

Amputation of Right Leg For Life Saving Reason
Elmer Merritt, patient at St Marys hospital in Walla Walla, underwent an above knee amputation Monday after a fractured leg failed to heal. The injury occurred when an auto hit a flock Merritt drove. prior surgeries failed and the limb shrank prompting removal. Sid McLean, 44, a Dry Creek area farmer and Athena resident, died Friday evening during an operation for stomach trouble at a Wal l all a hospital. Funeral held Sunday at 2 o clock in the Methodist Episcopal church, with survivors listed as widow, one daughter, mother Mrs McLean of Athena, and brothers James of Washtena Washington, and Will McLean of Dry Creek.

Snow Blindness Triggers Highway Collision Between Weston and Athena
On Wednesday morning Lester Hernevin and his mother drove between Weston and Athena when snow blinded Mr. Bergevin causing a head on collision with an oncoming car. Both drivers braked and skidded. Bergevin suffered heavy damage to the running board radiator and axle while occupants were bruised. The other car escaped with minor scratches.
