Fatal duck hunting accident kills Henry LaBrasche
Henry LaBrasche a well known young man died after a gun discharged while duck hunting on the Umatilla river. He died in Pendleton after an amputation and surgical efforts failed. Henry, with Harry Alexander and Carlton, went to the river near Thorn Hollow Station. A dog startled a log and the shotgun fired, wounding him in the left leg. Alexander helped, they sought aid, and Henry was moved toward Pendleton for care. The operation failed and he died at 2 30 Wednesday morning. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Athena. Henry, born near Athena July 28 1880, was 26 years old and known in Eastern Oregon athletic circles as a bow ball pitcher and mountaineer leader. He was survived by Edna Liville Taylor and her family.

The East Oregonian reports Circuit Judge H J Boonikastifies the demurer in Mig Taylor to a suit to enjoin Mrs Waylor from winding Moses Taylor in the U S district court. The decision is considered important to Oregon probate and illustrates federal and state court interaction over a Washington wheat land claim. Mrs Taylor of Pullman sued Mow Taylor for a half interest in 160 acres of valuable wheat land in Douglas County Washington.

Mrs. Raymond G. Brooks, renowned Walla Walla singer, will perform at Athena High School in a program titled Evening of Story and Song at the Christian Church on a Wednesday evening in December. The Athena High School will assist with Nellie Mulkey at the piano, and admission is charged for all attendees. The event features recitations, instrumental numbers, and children's songs by Mrs. Brooks and student performers, including selections and sketches from local authors and teachers.
