Atchison City Report Signals Growth Under Reform
The sixth annual city manager report shows steady debt reduction since 1921, lower taxes, and abundant public improvements funded from warrants. Bonded indebtedness fell from 1,261,530.89 to 603,027.25 over seven years as streets, sewers, and parks expanded while the tax rate dropped to 1.47% in 1928.

Phillips Petroleum buys Wilhoit stations in Atchison listing
Phillips Petroleum Co of Bartlesville Oklahoma has purchased 44 former Wilhoit company stations and bulk facilities including the Atchison two stations. Phillips will market Phillips 66 gasoline at these sites after distribution fixes. The firm, large in oil and natural gasoline, operates 46 mid continental plants and had 184 million gallons natural gasoline output in 1927.
