The Fleming Jackson Seever post American Legion drum and bugle corps will attend the state convention in Salina next September, aided by 1000 to 1200 dollars left in the treasury from the Fourth Automotive and Industrial exposition at Memorial Hall. The event, marketed as the most successful of its kind in Atchison, sold eleven cars, one truck, radios and other items, with Claude Meyer as treasurer noting the surplus after bills. Prizes included a six tube Steinite radio won by Vernon Britt and a $100 diamond ring won by Louis Bush, both drawn at the stage Saturday night.
