Robbery at Christie Store In Atchison
Two masked men bound grocer R H Pinkie Christie and robbed the Christie store at 932 South Sixth street of cash and checks totaling about 26 340 plus 77 22 in checks. Christie found tied in a toilet room after waking before 6 am. Police say the men fled after forcing entry, five minutes in the store. Insurance covers the loss. Christie remains confined to bed from shock.

Scouts Lease Eagle Springs for St Joe Council
Eagle Springs near Troy with a well known health and pleasure resort becomes leased to the St. Joe council of the Boy Scouts of America. Summer camps in northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri will be held at the springs under a one year contract with renewal option for ten years. Camp Brinton will be retained and used as a winter camp.

Father Gabriel Vonderstein O S B aged 55 and an original Maur Hill faculty member died after a stroke at Maur Hill. Requiem mass and office of the dead set for Wednesday at St Benedicts. He taught at St Benedicts college and served in several parishes before joining Maur Hill in 1920. Survived by a brother Father Martin Vonderstein and two sisters in Germany.
