St Benedicts graduation marks 74th year ceremony

St Benedicts college conferred 24 degrees and 22 diplomas in a formal commencement before Governor Woodring and Bishop Johannes. The event featured an academic procession, mass, and awards for arts, sciences and languages, with high school graduates announced prior for a combined ceremony at Atchison.

The 69th annual commencement at Mt St Scholasticas marks the first senior college graduation for the institution. Nineteen Bachelor of Arts degrees were conferred by Bishop Francis Johannes. Double Funeral Planned For Thaden Family In Atchison

Rosa Thaden remains in satisfactory condition after the Tuesday crash that killed her parents Mr. and Mrs. John H Thaden. The Thaden family will hold a 1:45 pm service at the residence and 2:00 pm church service at Trinity Lutheran, with burial in Mt Vernon cemetery. Pallbearers named. Rosa’s recovery may take weeks.

Offenders Solved Local Robbery and Related Thefts
