W R Fuhrman of Huron dies at 44
W R Fuhrman aged 44 manager of the Farmers Union store in Huron died at home after nine years of ill health. He had led the Lancaster township board and served as a Masonic and Eastern Star member. Survived by wife Ruby Chalfant Fuhrman, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral Monday at 2 PM at Presbyterian church, Lancaster cemetery burial.

Injuries after two coastings hit Atchison youths
Three youths were injured in separate coasting accidents in Atchison. Paul Diegel, 9, suffered a fractured skull and remained in serious condition at Atchison hospital after his sled struck a fence on Division street. Clarence Merrill, 9, and Woodrow Beagle, 11, both suffered broken left arms and facial injuries when their sled collided with a Missouri Pacific car at Seventh and R streets.

Bendena Merchant Dies In His Home At 67
Arthur Hardy a Bendena hardware merchant died at his home around 1 AM after six months of ill health following a paralysis in August. He was 67 and survived by his wife with no children. Funeral services are set for tomorrow at 1 30 PM in the Bendena Lutheran church, burial in Moray, with Stanton's funeral home in charge.

Atchison Plane Crash In Nebraska Pilot Survives Smash
Joe Lowrey test pilot for Arrow Aircraft Motor Corp of Lincoln Nebraska crashed a new plane in a corn field northeast of Bellevue Country Club after landing here last night en route to Kansas City for a dedication event. He escaped uninjured though the craft suffered heavy damage. The engine shut off during ascent from the practice field landing gear and propeller were damaged. The crash followed a late arrival after darkness forced an improvised landing.

Death Takes Herman Ochs
Herman A. Ochs 32 manager of the Buster Brown shoe store in Atchison died at 10 30 this morning at his home 814 South Fourth from Brights disease after a ten day illness. He came to Atchison from Leavenworth three months ago opening the shop. Surviving are his widow Florence Tearney Ochs and two children Virginia 7 and Werman Jr 3 his parents Mr and Mrs John Ochs three brothers John Roland and Jules and two sisters Ellis and Catherine all in Leavenworth. He was born in Leavenworth 1897 and educated there in Catholic parochial schools. He served six months overseas in World War I in the signal corps and was later a member of the officers reserve corps. Funeral services will be held in Leavenworth. The body was taken to his parents home by a Leavenworth undertaker.
