The Farmers Bank of Rushville in Buchanan county was closed by its board due to impaired capital. Examiner L F Mills took charge. reports say a $15,200 shortage exists but officials would not confirm. Potter banks merge in Atchison County to form Farmers' State Bank

The Potter State Bank and the Farmers State Bank of Potter merge effective immediately under the name Farmers' State Bank of Potter. R. F. Capital is 25000 with assets around 250000, making it the largest bank in Atchison county outside Atchison city. stockholders approved the consolidation, with Kansas state banking cooperation.
