William J Brownson a longtime Atchison railroad conductor died at his home 304 Atchison street after a gradual decline from a bladder ailment leading to uremic poisoning. He was born in Kansas and longtime public figure described as widely known and beloved. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon from his residence.

Remnants of Farm Fire Victim Recovered
From Saturday's Daily, only a small portion of the body of Mrs. Alcinda Blair, 87, was recovered after a fire destroyed the Klone farm home nine miles west of Atchison on the Monrovia road. The remains were placed in a casket at Harcuff Funeral home. burial is in Lancaster Cemetery. Coroner George Harcuff said no inquest will be held. The fire, reported about 2 am, may have started when a stove pipe overheated and ignited Mrs. Blair's second floor room. Mrs. Klone and daughter Mary Frances Warner escaped with the son barely in time.

Tomorrow marks the 50th wedding anniversary of John H. Brown and May Dickson Brown of Atchison. They lived in Atchison their entire married life, raised a family, and recall early town history from second street to Santa Fe. Their only child Gladys died in 1923, leaving granddaughter Mary Lillian Millard of Oklahoma City. The couple married January 27, 1879 and will celebrate quietly at 800 North Fifth Street.

Fire Claims 87 Year Old Woman in Atchison County
Mrs Alcinda Blair aged 87 died when the Fred Klone home nine miles southwest of Atchison on the Monrovia road burned at 2 o clock this morning. Her daughter and son escaped in night clothes but could not reach her in a second story room. coroner George Harcutt assisted in searching the ruins as neighbors fought the flames. The Blair family history is traced to William Blair, sheriff of Atchison County 1882 to 1886, with the couple later involved in milling and farming ventures.
