H L McLenon took second with 94.89 yield and 96.8 score. E A Wohl et al. third with 92.7 yield and 88.6 score. Auction followed with prices of 30 and 15 dollars per bushel. proceeds fund future prizes for seed corn.

Boy Dies From Injuries After Horse Rampage Near Lancaster
David B. Gingrich fourteen of Lancaster died at Atchison hospital after a horse he rode fell on a concrete highway near Monrovia Sunday night. He suffered a fractured skull and other injuries. He had left home around ten p.m. and was found in serious condition Monday morning. He lived with Mr and Mrs Oral Carson for seven years. Surviving are his father A C Gingrich of Atchison two sisters and one brother. Funeral is set for Friday at 2 p.m. from the Lutheran church in Lancaster. Burial will be in Lancaster.

Edward M Scarlett a retired railroad man and 48 year Atchison resident died at his home 1416 Pacific avenue after illness. Born in Page county Iowa March 4 1857 he married Emma Cumley in 1876. They moved to Atchison in 1880 where he remained until retirement three years ago. He leaves widow seven children 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren with funeral set for Monday at 2 PM.
