Reckless speeding crash injures DeKalb group
Five DeKalb residents in a Friday accident near the Lincoln Highway crossing at Northwestern. Miss Mabel Munson sprained wrist. Mrs Mabel White and Mrs H C Platt severely injured, with Platt unconscious and hospitalized. Driver Charles Glossop and Mrs Platt’s husband escaped with minor injuries. Glossop and the group had traveled from Dixon. vehicle wrecked, repair costs about 100 dollars.

The 44th Lee County Old Settlers Picnic is slated for Compton Park on Saturday September 11 with morning business, a noon picnic dinner, free coffee and sugar, church meals served by the Ladies Aid Society, a three o'clock ball game between Earlville and West Brooklyn, a Compton band concert and evening moving pictures. Also notes of local newspaper changes, subscriber renewals, an ice cream social at the Presbyterian church, and various notices about estray, veterinary and sale ads.
