Ashton Man 92 Remains Active Veteran Settler
Ashton’s oldest citizen Andrew Jackson Drummond, age 92, recalls arriving in 1838 from Ohio at age 15 and walking with a flock of sheep. He has voted 18 times for president and served as postmaster at Ashton in 1865 before later moving to Missouri with wife. They reside with son Benton Drummond a mile north of town.
