Joseph A. Roesler Jr. died after a fainting spell while watching the Illinois Butler game in Champaign. Funeral services are set for Friday at St Patrick’s Church Rochelle with interment in Catholic Cemetery. He was born June 13, 1902 in Ashton and survived by parents two brothers and three sisters.

Women’s Foreign Missionary Society Holds Joliet Dixon Meet
The forty seventh annual convention opened in the Joliet Rock River district with a presidents conference at ten o clock in the Methodist Episcopal church. Delegates heard lively discussions and heard reports from 41 auxiliaries showing a gain of 115 members and three new auxiliaries while 80 subscriptions to The Friend were noted. Indian curios tables and Indian tea followed with Mr and Mrs Samuel Taylor of Lucknow India and Miss Minnie Cliff of Singapore sharing demonstrations and talks for the children hour conducted by Mrs Fred Smith of Earlville.
