Obituary of Thomas U. Paddock Pioneer Resident
Thomas U Paddock born 1864 in Bradford township died October 8 1922 at 57. Nine months after a Chicago specialist operated after injuries December 10 he moved to Ashton with his family. He married Mabel Reed March 8 1899 and had two daughters Mildred Lucille and Alice Lenora. Alice died April 6 1921. He was a deacon and trustee of Washington Grove Christian church. Interment in Washington Grove cemetery. Survivors include wife, mother, siblings and a few distance relatives. Funeral services held at home and church with Rev E C Geeding delivering the sermon. Regular Eastern Star meeting October 17 referenced.

Auto crash near Vogeler farm injures three
Five o clock Tuesday afternoon a Ford Touring from Clinton Iowa hit Charles Vogeler’s dog near the Vogeler residence and overturned trapping two women and a young man named Crane. Mrs Vogeler and Mr John Bork were aided by Ashton medical staff and Rochelle hospital reports show multiple injuries to the women including broken ribs while the young man sustained minor bruises. The wrecked car was moved to the Vogeler yard as police assisted traffic and cleanup.

Trenton Trenchard Trenholt Dies at 55 After Long Sickness
Fredrick Marsh Trenholt born near Rochelle November 16 1866 died October 3 1922 at his sister Mrs Dan Tilton's home near Rochelle aged 55 years 10 months and 16 days. A carpenter and mason by trade he later vulcanized at Franklin Grove before illness ended work. He leaves son Mirl of Dixon two sisters Mrs Dan Tilton and Mrs W T Patterson and a brother Albert with many relatives. Funeral services were held at home by Rev KB Geeding of Washington Grove Christian church and burial followed in Lawn Ridge cemetery Rochelle.
