Ashton Methodist women prepare for the Joliet Dixon district Woman's Foreign Missionary society meeting to be held October 17 and 18 in the local church. Delegates from eight churches will attend with missionaries from China India and Malaysia in costume. Miss Cliff of Singapore will headline, with Mrs Samuel Taylor and family from New Richmond attending. A poster contest prizes and a book shower to build a Joliet Dixon district library are planned. Last year delegates traveled over 13 400 miles and gifts totaled about the same dollars.

Seed corn meetings attract farmers across townships
The Farm Bureau hosted seed corn meetings at multiple farms to demonstrate seed selection, corn root rot plots, and a seed corn drag. Farm Deal Near Nachusa Nets 965 Per Acre
Andrew Gonnerman of Dysart Iowa buys the Oscar Hocholtz farm a quarter section located southeast of Nachusa. The sale was handled by his brother in law Charles Vogeler. The farm, described as highly tillable, sold for 965 dollars per acre. Possession transfers March 1 1924 with the Gonnerman family moving from Dysart to Lee County.

Sale of purebred stock nets near four thousand dollars

Epworth League Receives Radio Address From Dr Guthrie
The Epworth League heard a radio address from Dr. Guthrie, the general secretary, via KYW Chicago. Guy Shippee and Leonard Glenn used home radios to receive the message, then a report was shared at the service an hour later. In city hall court, Judge Jennings heard a lawsuit brought by Winzey of St Charles against Harold Kelley and Willis Reigle of Franklin Grove over a four year old automobile transaction, finding for the plaintiff.

Thomas Paddock Ha Passed Away After Injury
Thomas A Paddock died at his home Tuesday night at 9 15 following injuries from a runaway accident near Haenitseh corners. He was 57 years old and survived by his wife and one daughter with his mother and siblings also listed. Funeral Thursday at 1 from home and 2 at Washington Grove church conducted by Rev E C Geeding. An obituary will follow. Former pastor Rev Ernest Wray Oneal will preach Sunday at seven.
