Married Twice in Week Former Dixon Man Tells Kill Story
A Dixon native, Henry Elgin Webster, confessed to murdering his second wife in a woods near Dixon after a string of marriages. He described their quarrel on September 15 and the fatal stabbing in a ravine, then dumped the body and fled to Chicago. Officials and coroner investigations followed with Webster held for trial.

Longtime DeKalb Druggist Dr Sindlinger Dies At 68
John Hartman Sindlinger a Civil War veteran and former druggist, died at his daughter’s home in DeKalb after a two year illness. He was born October 30 1842 in Germany and came to the United States as a boy. He leaves a large family including seven sons and three daughters among others. Funeral services were held at the United Evangelical church with Interment by the Modern Woodmen of America.

Sunday School Organized in Viola Township
Miss Ethel M. Kay of Dixon organized the first Sunday school in Viola township. Officers elected were A. P. Case as superintendent and Miss Edith Marples as secretary. The school meets in the new schoolhouse four miles south of Reynolds Evangelical church.
