Women Register Balance of Week War Census at Town Hall

Reno the Magician Promises Dazzling School Show

Edward Reno a veteran magician of 35 years travels world wide and dazzles audiences with rapid fire tricks and audience participation. $1500 Is Asked From Ashton and Bradford Townships

At a Sunday union church meeting in Dixon local leaders urged raising 1500 from Ashton and Bradford townships for YMCA army camp work. A 25 member committee led by John D. Charters will canvass next week with plans by Rev. Fred A. Graham to visit Camp Grant and hold a supper at the Methodist church to complete the organization.

More Clothes for War Zone Aid from Ashton Red Cross Aux

Ashton Red Cross Auxiliary reports large clothing donations for European war zone relief, with many garments prepared for shipment this week. Volunteers seek more helpers and patterns for children’s clothes, detailing men's, women’s, boys’, girls’, and infant garments including coats, sweats, dresses, skirts, blankets, and booties. A new member, Mrs Rea Mall, joined last week. Mrs A M Reed contributed one dollar.

The Lee County county court confirmed the supplemental sewer and sewage disposal plant assessment of $10 227 52 with ten annual installments. no objections were filed. The matter closes after nearly two years of proceedings, with the first installment now due at the village collector’s office.
