Funeral Service for John G. Eisenberg Held in Ashton
Relatives and friends gathered at the Eisenberg home in Ashton for a funeral service conducted by Rev. F W Doede and Rev. W H Manshardt. Born 1861 in Gradford township he died May 26 at age 57 after years of illness. He leaves a widow and three children along with two brothers and other relatives. Interment was at Ashton cemetery with M W A escorts and six nephews as pallbearers.

United Evangelical Church to Hold Special Prayer Service
In response to President Wilson s call for humiliation fasting and prayer a special service will be held Thursday evening May 30 at 7 30 in the United Evangelical church. Brief addresses will cover national history the occasion for humiliation and scriptural references. Rev B R Schultze presiding elder preaches Friday evening and Sunday evening at 7 45 with communion. Bradford service Saturday June 1 at 2 00 pm followed by quarterly conference. All welcome. Also note installing burglar alarm at Ashton Bank and Mrs Lewis Wood s Sterling visit.

Morning Worship Changes for Two Sundays at Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian Church announces a 10 30 a m morning service next Sunday and the following Sunday instead of the evening service. Bank Cashier Enlists in United States Army
W. H. Yenerich assistant cashier of Farmers State Bank for four years enlisted in the Army at Chicago. He reported for duty Monday morning and was inducted immediately. The bank directors granted him leave of absence during the war. he will return to his work afterward.
