Philip Burkenn Dies at 80 in Franklin Grove
Philip Burkenn, age 80, died at his Franklin Grove home after a nine week illness. Born in Germany in 1837 he immigrated at 25 and lived near Franklin Grove. He married Christina Aschenbrenner in 1868 and had ten children, plus many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral held at his home and Methodist church with interment in Franklin Grove cemetery.
