Navy to ship anti submarine flotilla up the Mississippi
The Navy plans a river voyage through the Mississippi and tributaries to give the people of the midwest a close view of wartime ships and equipment. Led by Lieutenant Commander Thomas G. Berrien the flotilla includes the Isabel destroyer K 5 and three submarine chasers with flying boats. The expedition will pass from Key West to New Orleans then up to St Louis in May visiting river towns along the way.
