Red Cross drive aims to meet Lee County quota quickly
Lee County chapter launches a campaign to raise its 37 500 quota for the national Red Cross drive May 20 to May 27. Volunteers urged as records track every citizen's aid for war relief, with post drive checks on noncontributors. Local committees led by N A Petrie and township chairs organize the effort across Ashton Bradford Reynolds and surrounding townships.

At 7:30 yesterday morning Oscar Kersten and Pearl Josephine Roesler united in marriage at St Patrick's Catholic Church Rochelle with about fifty guests present. The couple attended by Edward Roesler and Mary Kelley, reception at Collier's Inn Rochelle, short wedding trip to Chicago. Mrs Kersten long employed as assistant postmaster. Mr Kersten a farmer planning to enlist.
